Where did the points go?

Hey everyone,

Just updated to 2018CC, opened a .ai  file and noticed a distinct lack of points on shapes in Illustrator. I further noticed a lack of options in the View tab to remedy this.

Went into preferences and saw various options for the anchor points settings but no combination revealed them, except to hover over a point for it to appear.

Please show an example of what you're referring to.

As you can tell, show edges are my view state at the moment. Anchor Points are just... missing with the direct selection tool (A). Fiddling with the settings can get the handles to all appear across a path, but not the point themselves.

My screenshot didn't capture my cursor. It will change when you hover over the anchor point, which is what it normally did in CC2017. But still, the anchor points are normally visible. I mean maybe this isn't critical, but I've grown quite used to knowing where I am relative to my other points at a glance.

Pen tool works differently than shape tool. There's like these tiny little blobby nodes that appear when making individual points, however, I'm not sure if that's because it's supposed to look that way, or if the different line vectors are overlapping in the corners. Generally speaking, up and until now, you never saw the intersection of joints of a path because the anchor point would sit on top of that junction.

I realize that path looks like I drew a really tight triangle or something in that corner, but that's just a single point.
