Hi @Tommas B,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with Command Z and the “Save” options in InDesign 2024. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to work efficiently. Just to let you know, the latest version of InDesign is now 2025, and I recommend updating to this version to see if it resolves the issue.

Could you please share details about your operating system? Also, is this issue specific to one file, or are you experiencing it across all your files? This information can help us pinpoint the issue more effectively.

In the meantime, you can try below:

  1. You mentioned you've done this before, but it's worth trying again. You can reset preferences by holding down Shift + Control + Alt (Windows) or Shift + Command + Option + Control (Mac) while starting InDesign. Reference

  2. Sometimes, custom shortcuts can interfere. You can check your keyboard shortcuts in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts.

Please let me know how it goes, and feel free to reach out with any further questions!

Thanks,
Abhishek Rao

@Tommas B

Shouldn't be Command S?

"Z" is for Undo?

Or on a Mac it's differently?

Try resetting preferences - and / or cache for InDesign.

And what OS version?

Have you just updated to Sequoia?
