copy and paste causes Indesign to crash

If I copy from Word and paste in Indesign then Indesign crashes. This occurs with all Word files and all Indesign files, even new ones. This has just started I have never seen it happen before in all the years I have worked with Indesign.

Any ideas?

Sorry to bother you I fixed it by trashing preferences.
