iMac running Ventura 13.7.3
Everytime I use the keyboard shortcut 'Option' + 'Command' to duplicate elements on the canvas, or indeed duplicating pages, Adobe InDesign crashes.
I've used this keyboard action for years and years without any issue.
Any ideas out there?
Thanks for any help.

Thank you. Yes I reset preferences and things seems to have settled but I will certainly email you if it persists.
And yes, I regularly submitted the crash report.
Thanks for your reply.

What InDesign version are you using (exactly)?
Have you tried restoring your InDesign preferences? Here's how:

I've "restored preferences" and it seems more stable...
The problem seems to be more obvious using legacy files, some maybe 12 months old so would have gone through a few InDesign verions...
Thanks for the suggestion.

If you are using InDesign, the keyboard shortcut gesture to duplicate a selected object is simply Opt/Alt + drag the object to duplicate it, when in the black Selection tool. Same thing with duplicating Pages panel page icons.

Opt/Alt + drag - yes that works,
I've used - Command/Shift also and this works too.
Now I can't remember what I used to do for 20 years 🙂
Thanks for the reply anyway... I've "restored preferences" as - Steve Werner - mentioned and it seems more stable...

Don't bother asking for help here, they know about the bug and their solution is to update your OS. If you choose not to or can't update to a newer OS your out of luck. Downgrading to 20.0.1 is the only

Hi Mike,
Bear in mind that this OP has cited a slightly different problem. Until that person writes more detail, it remains to be understood whether it is or isn't the same problem you have been posting about. Also, bear in mind that almost everyone on this forum is a user just like you, and everyone wants a solution to the problem, too. Sometimes it is Adobe (20.1 patch) and sometimes it is Apple and sometimes it is Microsoft. For 35 years this has been a juggling act. That is why we all patiently trade our observation skills with one another. It will eventually resolve and also eventually their will be another issue, too.

Hello KieranBrennanDublin,
As Mike suggested, this could be a different issue. So, we will need to isolate it to get to the bottom of this. Did you try resetting the preferences, suggested earlier? Please let me know the outcome.
Also, were you able to submit the crash report via the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog box? If not, please submit it and share the email address (you used while submitting) with me over DM on the Community (click on my name > click on 'message'). For reference: https://adobe.ly/4117ozB
I will check it and get it investigated. Looking forward to your response.

Hi again
After resetting preferences, the issue settled considerably, but not totally. Seems to me that legacy documents still cause the problem. Just fyi.
Thanks again.
