Gifs with rounded corners on Publish Online

New Here ,
Jan 19, 2023 Jan 19, 2023

I’m having an issue with adding gifs with rounded corners in InDesign.

I added it to the page and changed them to rounded corners, and it looks fine in InDesign, but when I upload the PDF to “Publish Online”, they’re all changed to sharp corners again.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

  1. Don't use GIFs in InDesign projects.
  2. If you need an image with rounded corners, make the frame round corner

Why would you want to use GIFs?

You're a community expert and your advice is dont use GIFs?? What an obnoxious response. Why would you bother replying as you clearly dont know

There are so many uses for GIFs on Indesign. As far as getting rounded corners on them and for it to show on Publish Online, the only route I've found is to create a png on Photoshop with the corners the same colour as your background and then have it sit over the top of the GIFs. A bit of a nuisance process unfortunately, but successful. Best of luck.

Thank you! Yeah, seems like it's the only way to get around it, but that does work – thanks!

Nothing wrong with gifs at all when you go to web publications like Publish online, we are not talking about the old cmyk print days after all...

Are you using PDF or Publish Online. They are not the same thing.

That one is indeed confusing in the OP message, I guess he simply means Publish Online, but could also mean the downloadable pdf from there (in that case I suspect a transparency flattening problem).
