Hello everyone 🙂
I had a pop-up in InDesign that linked to this feature: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/convert-pdf-to-indesign-file.html
It says "InDesign (beta) is available for testing and feedback." but there's no InDesign Beta listed in my CC - is this only available in specific countries (I'm located in Germany)? I couldn't find any info on this and it would feel kind of pointless to receive a pop-up with a feature behind it that I cannot use.
What do I need to do to access InDesign Beta?
There's not "Beta"-tab shown in my CC. I thought it might have been replaced by "Prereleases" but it only offers Illustrator (Prerelease) there. Now that I see that it's default-available for you, I assume our admin has deactivated beta apps for us. Thank you so much nonetheless!

Did you try clicking the "Get Started" button on that page?

Hi Jessica,
I did not test the new feature yet.
To do that you need:
[1] The current InDesign Beta version; there is an Update available.
From my German UI on macOS:
Applikationen > Beta
InDesign (Beta) Update verfügbar
Click the blue "Updates verwalten" button to see what's exactly available:
Now, before you install or update InDesign (Beta) the second precondition is most important:
[2] All menus of InDesign Beta must be in English
If you'd update or install the German (or any other locale apart from English) InDesign Beta version the feature Convert PDF to InDesign File would be not available.
Did not do this myself yet. My understanding is that you have to switch the language settings of the OS from German to English in order to get the English version through the Creative Cloud Desktop App. After installing the English version you could switch the OS back to German, I think.

Well, if you see the Prerelease tab AND if you are part of InDesign Prerelease ( and not only part of Illustrator Prerelease ) I would suggest you to go to the forum on InDesign Prerelease and ask there if the new feature is also available in one of the latest InDesign Prerelease versions. If yes, you should be able to see the latest inDesign Prerelease version with the blue "Updates verwalten" button in the Creative Cloud Desktop App.
Unless of course InDesign Prerelease versions are also blocked for you by the admin…

There's a bug in the recently-redesigned Creative Cloud app. For many users, InDesign Prerelease actually appears at the bottom of 'All apps' tab (not in Prerelease).

Hi @leo.r ,
well, yes. Until a given prerelease version is not installed. When installed it vanishes from the "All Apps" tab.
At least that's what I am seeing here with my German version of Creative Cloud Desktop App.
When installed, one could find the prerelease version of InDesign under the list of apps with "Update".

The prerelease version stays for me in the 'All apps' tab even after being installed here in Toronto (it does also appear in the list of installed apps). I think this inconsistent behavior does depend on user location (for some users, InDesign Prerelease does appear in the Prerelease tab where it should be).

HI @Tom Robinson - LegUpTools ,
this was yesterday. Today the feature is available for all regions.
But only in the English localized version.
