Running Mac OS Ventura 13.6.2
Downloaded a INDT template file from Adobe stock
Tried downloading it again
Keeps crashing constantly. Community says to save it as an IDML file but that removes all of the formating and makes the template useless... So basically the file is currupt on adobe stock? Anything I can do? dont wanna pay for a faulty template....
Thanks

I also have a MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.6.2. I downloaded the IDML file from Adobe Stock and it opened immediately:
There appears to be some problem with you computer system.

Yeah The file opens and I can work with it.... The second you try to copy some text, It crashes Indesign.....Its not my machine its the file. Every other ID file I have operates correctly.....I did all the restart, delete prefs stuff.... I can export it as an IDML and then it works but you loose all of the formating and basically have to rebuild the dang file.......

I would try some troubleshooting on your computer:
You could do a computer shutdown before opening the IDML file.
You could install it in another user on your computer (to see if there could be corruption in your current computer user files).

Sorry, your description said you had a crash. But you didn't say it crashed when you worked with the text.
@Barb Binder has the correct answer.

Thanks Steve. As I looked up the topic, it does seem that its a fairly common problem.....Hopefully Adobe can solve it? If there is one file with this issue it may be a one off, but I've read that other files have this issue to its the SETI thing where if two of something exist then there is a probability that many more exist!

Well, I have to say, as I read this thread I was as convinced as Steve that it was an issue with your system and not the file—until I downloaded it and had it crash during multiple copy/pastes on both 2023 and 2024 (macOS Ventura 13.6.2).
You can tell the story here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/stock/ct-p/ct-stock?page=1&sort=latest_replies&filter=all&lang=all&ta... and link to this thread to request a refund.
