Hello,
We recently upgraded from Indesign CS6 to CC 13.1 and any .indd file I open in the new application crashes.
Any advice appreciated.
Kind regards,
Kasra
We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains some stability fixes. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.
If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the message.
OS is windows 10 Enterprise.
I have no access to CC 2019. We are a large organisation and updating apps or change settings are restricted.
So I can't update to the latest and see how it works.
Thanks,
Kasra

Check with your network administrator and make sure that the network software is up to date and compatible with Creative Cloud. Sometimes IT departments don't update the network so that they can remain compatible with firewall and virus protection. It seems possible that something running within your network may be interfering with Creative Cloud.

Hi Kasra,
what exact version of CS6 are you working with? Go to "About InDesign" with the Ctrl key pressed (Win) / Cmd key pressed (Mac) to get the exact version number. If possible work with version 8.1.0 because there was some bug fixing with IDML export/import in versions after 8.0.0.
What exactly went wrong when trying to open an IDML file from CS6 with CC 2018.1 ?
Be patient. It could take a few minutes to process a complex IDML file.
Regards,
Uwe

Do you want to post a file or two on dropbox? Someone will take a look.

Thanks @Laubender for the advice and sorry for belated reply (due to holidays shutdown).
What exact version of CS6 are you working with?
It doesn't matter which CS6 I've got because we can't update it due to our network administrative restrictions anyway. (I also don't have access to that machine now to check).

InDesign CC opens the file, (artwork is viewable on the screen) and then in pauses for a few seconds and then crashes.(displaying the InDesign standard crash dialog box).
Kind regards,
Kasra

BobLevine Thanks for the offer. However, our administrative policies restrict us from using cloud drives. If you can give me an e email address I can send a sample to you. Thanks. Kasra.

Thanks sanyamt . I'm working in a large organisation, so I asked our IT to explore the possibility of packaging the latest version of Adobe CC and deploy it on my machine. (I can't do an update using Adobe CC app personally). I'll get back to you later. In the meantime, thanks for the comprehensive response.
