This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.

Uninstall / Reinstall didn't help.

Illustrator and InDesign are both crashing on startup.

No recovery attempts on files

Not even opening files.

Start the software...5 seconds after it starts, it crashes.

I just used manage applications to change from 2019 to 2018 Version 13 and it opens and works fine.
InDesign CC 2019 is still crashing though.

Happy to start another thread as I'm on Windows instead of Mac, but having exactly the same issue as many others detailed here.  Fresh installation of CC2019.  InDesign is crashing within 15 seconds of opening from the Start Menu with no other intervention.  Tried rebooting.  Tried clearing preferences.  No luck with either.

I am having this issue as well, using Indesign 14.0.1, and macOS 10.14.2. App stays open for a few moments then quits unexpectedly, despite a complete reinstall. I have had to revert to version 13.

I am having the same issue. This morning InDesign 2019 was working fine. Then all of a sudden it starts crashing within about 15 seconds after starting InDesign.

I'm on a MacPro 2013, Mac OS X 10.13.6

I've tried deleting the cache, the Version 14.0 folder, restarting the Macintosh. No change. It still keeps crashing within about 15 seconds.

I've been able to fix it, I think. InDesign has been up for a couple of minutes now with no crash.

The steps I took to get it running in my MacPro 2013:

1. From the Adobe Creative Cloud menu on my Mac I uninstalled InDesign.

2. Ran CleanMyMacPro X. There is a 'Full Uninstall' function in that. CleanMyMacPro X showed 3 or 4 other files that had not been deleted in the uninstall by Adobe. Those files were not part of the Volume 14.0 folder. I told CleanMyMacPro X to completely uninstall InDesign.

3. Restarted the Macintosh.

4. Reinstalled InDesign. Made sure that there were no third party xtensions installed.

5. Restarted InDesign and worked on a document for a few minutes.

6. Reinstalled my 1 third party xtension (after quitting InDesign).

7. Restarted InDesign.

After about as long as it took to write this post, InDesign is still running. I imagine the problem were those hidden files that CleanMyMacPro X found and deleted.

Hi,

It should be working again. A server side change was made and there's no need for uninstall/reinstall or sign out/in.

We're very sorry for the interruption.

regards,

steve

"a server side change" was made?

Can you tell in more detail?

Thanks,

InDesign and Illustrator both crashing on launch for me as well. Same issues as Felix006.

Odd that it this problem started today when I was working all last week and yesterday in both programs in the current 2019 versions and they worked fine.

Mac OS Mojave 10.14.2

InDesign 14.01

Illustrator 23.0.1

I had to get a project out the door so I actually had to reinstall previous versions of Illustrator (2017) and InDesign (13.01) to get any work done.

Looks like whole world of Indesign user is having this same issue. Although it seems fix back in Nov, but it is coming back. I found that without connecting to the internet the ID and AI won't crash.

It seems like the issue went away without me doing anything. I am now working on ID for about 10 min and it didn't crash...
