Indesign October 2023 (19.0) bug - Screen blanks on selection

Hi

I have a big to report inthe new Indesign October 2023 (19.0)

When I make a selection (click and drag my mouse) the screen goes white until I let go of the mouse button.

Anyone else have this problem?

Only happened since recent update.

We are sorry to hear you're having trouble. I am unable to reproduce the issue at my end on the Windows machine. Would you mind telling us the details of your operating system? It would be really helpful if you could share the screenshot or a short video of the issue.

Thank you for sharing the video and information. It looks like you're experiencing a similar issue mentioned here: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180/suggestions/47289806.

If so, we would request you please add your voice and upvote the request.

Please also try the workaround suggested- please try working in GPU mode only.

It does look like a similar problem. Unfortunately, I can't vote as it won't let me create an account. (Says device not supported) Not sure what that means!

Also, can't work in GPU mode as it's not available in Indesign (grey out, compatible GPU and Monitor not detected)

Giving me a headache now, all this flashing!

Turn off the rulers or roll back to Ventura.

I'm having the same problem - it's hard to select items when they are invisible. Turning off the rulers worked! TY

Same problem here and it's been 4 months since you first reported this. I had to turn off GPU because it causes my indesign screen to turn completely gray. And now I get the joy of the flashing when rulers are on.

Did you update to macOS 14.3? It fixed the issue for many users.

Thanks for the heads up. For some reason my computer didn't tell me there was an update. Maybe a slow rollout. Going to try it now and hope for the best.
