Whenever I click on an object in Indesign, whether it's a text box or an image or a rectangle, it shifts to a random direction very slightly and I have to undo it to have it go back in place. I'm only clicking to update the shape of something or the position or the style or the text but it involuntary shifts the location for me whether it's up, down, left, right. Why might this be happening? The same thing happens when I use my trackpad and my mouse. I am certain there is a problem or a misconfigured setting in my Adobe Indesign. I have also reinstalled Indesign and also installed an older version yet it continues. This problem does not happen on other Adobe programs that I have used. I've also recently switched to a new macbook, my previous macbook did not have this problem.
MacOS version: Sonoma 14.2.1 (23C71)
Indesign version: 19.1
Solved. Quitting Magnet stops this problem happening for me.

Just spotted this as I'm having the same problems.

I'm on Sequoia 15.1.1 (24B91) so I don't think this is related to Sonoma.

where is "Magnet"? I used the Help search feature and nothing appears. I need "snap to guides" -- but where is this 'magnet' you speak of? I did locate a magnet option under main menu > Type > Tabs but that's for a text object not objects like a box or shape alone. It would not let me click it in relation to an empty (non-text) box shape. This makes no sense. Please elaborate.

This issue might be related to your MacBook’s input settings or hardware. First, test with a different mouse or temporarily disable the trackpad to rule out hardware sensitivity. Next, adjust your system settings by going to System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control and modifying the tracking speed or disabling the "force click " option on the trackpad. In InDesign, you can reset preferences by holding down Cmd+Opt+Shift when launching the app.

Suffering with the same issue for the last 48 hrs, no updates to software or Opsys. Is Magnet an MacOS system application?
thank you

Is Magnet an MacOS system application?
By @MattyHM71
yes, it's a 3rd-party app. just delete Magnet from your Applications folder (you may need to restart after that).

Thank you... I quit the application and it now works without issue. It is 100% the culprit for me.

Where? I do not see "Magnet" as an application on my Mac. I'm so confused guys. Please give explicit direction. This has been silently destroying me inside and i had no one to ask. thanks!
