I updated to Adobe InDesign 2024 and now I am unable to use my kyboard shortcuts such as
CTRL+Z, CTRL+C, CTRL+V. My Delete button no longer works either, and I havent explored enough to note any other problems as of yet.
I went to EDIT>Key Board Shortcuts... to see if I could add them back in, however upon attempting to add the 'new shortcut' I was unable to 'assign', then realised I was unable to create a 'new set...' or 'show set...'
It shows 'Current shortcuts' as empty even when I select all the Commands.
Im at a loss, this application is no longer user friendly for me.
In your Screenshot - yout 'Set' is not selected. So you can't add a shortcut to a Set that doesn't exist.
Create a new Set and save it as a unique name. Then edit the shortcuts.
If you can't do this then
Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the

Hi Belinda:
Rebuilding preferences is good advice and likely the answer you need since it happened after an upgrade.
The other thing to note is that sometimes the keyboard shortcuts are taken over by another application. If Robert's advice doesn't work, restart your computer and only open InDesign and see if the shortcuts are working again. Pls let us know one way or the other. This should be a quick fix.

Hi,
I am following up on this discussion. Did the suggestions shared above help? Is this only happening with InDesign or other Adobe applications as well?
Thanks
