PDF Export Vektorgrafik in Pixelgrafik umwandeln

Community Beginner ,
Sep 17, 2024 Sep 17, 2024

Hallo,

You can achieve this by first exporting the file as either a png or jpeg (File>Export) at low resolution. It will now be a low resolution raster file. Then open the file in Acrobat, Photoshop or Illustrator and save it there as a pdf.

@Julian29579163pwi4

Then you need to rasterize EPS files in Photoshop and relink - can be of course automated.

It can be 100% automated.

Why can't that be done?

Hi @Julian29579163pwi4 , The method in the link @Robert at ID-Tasker posted would work for placed EPS objects.

Just to clarify, there needs to be an object using transparency somewhere on the spread, you need to select a Transparency Flattener preset that converts everything to rasters, and the Compatibility has to be Acrobat 4:

The exported PDF:

@rob day

But there is no control over the resolution of each EPS? And everything on the page - including texts around - will get rasterized? Which might not be a good thing...

The Flattener preset determines the resolution—here’s the preset I used in the example:

Yes the preset is going to rasterize everything including text, that’s always been the case

@rob day

Yes, I know, "all or nothing", but I was rather suggesting that OP might want to rasterize some of the EPS files differently, for example, depends on their size / complexity.

You would have to do two different Exports.

I don't think it used to be like that. That can't be true that this doesn't work anymore!?

Is rasterizing the entire spread including any InDesign text a problem for you? Rasterizing only placed vectors has never been possible via a PDF Export.

Yes, we understand.

You have TWO options:

1) rasterize EPS files in Photoshop using Actions - then relink in InDesign, you might need to resize re-imported bitmaps,

2) let script do it automatically.
