Proper workflow for InDesign collaboration

I am working on a yearbook in InDesign that I want to share with another teacher so he can work on it also.  I am having trouble wrapping my brain around how to collaborate with Adobe Creative Cloud.  I understand that InDesign files get synced, but not as a Cloud Document.  I don't know exactly the best way to share the file.

We do not have Dropbox, but we do have OneDrive, which I see many people use in their collaborations with InDesign.  Is one simple way simply to save to a shared One Drive folder, then make sure we are never working on it at the same time?  I'm thinking we shouldn't need to download and upload every time we work on it, as it should sync when we save. I'll alos want to make sure we have the same fonts on our separate machines, and that we embed all our photos.

Am I missing anything?

For Creative Cloud sharing, you can upload, or sync files.

You can view these files either with the CC app, or visit adobe.com and login to your account.

If you use the web portal, select checkerboard icon in upper right, and Creative Cloud.

Here you can view the list of cloud files.

Select the checkbox of file you would like to share, then the Share icon.

You will then be able to send an email invite to co-worker and share file.

My InDesign files show in Synced Files, but not in Cloud Documents.  And I don't have the option to share synced files.  When I tried to upload the InDesign file to the Cloud Documents, I got the message that this file type is not supported.

Hi @Aaron235138467hcx , Your Creative Cloud subscription includes a file sync’ing option that is similar to Dropbox sync’ing. You don’t need to upload or download, just move your Indesign project folder into your User>Creative Cloud Files folder and the files will automatically sync to your cloud account.

To collaborate, right click the project folder, choose View on Website, and from your cloud page invite other CC users to also sync. You have to communicate and schedule editing otherwise you may get conflicted copies. More details here:

It looks like the key is that the FOLDER is shared in the synced files, and not individual files.  I put the file in a folder and was able to share it.

Thanks!

Right, all files and folders saved in the local Creative Cloud Files folder automatically sync to the web server’s Your Files > Synced files. You can invite other CC users to edit an entire folder and its files, or individual files.

The Your Files > Cloud documents folder is limited to Photoshop’s .PSDC files and Illustrator’s .AIC files.

The safest way would be to split the yearbook into parts and just work on each part separately.
