I have just updated to 20.5 but there is still not fixed bug with new menu option and shortcut (View-Preview on CPU/GPU).
I'v been using Shift+E for my own action, but now I'm not able to overwrite it. Everytime I assign shortcut and restart, it is back to default. It cant be assigned to different item.
Hi @michaljanata,
Thank you for your patience and for sharing all the details along with the screen recording. I checked with the product team, and they've confirmed this issue is being tracked internally as a bug. A fix is planned for an upcoming release, and once the prerelease build is available I'll reach out, so you can test and confirm the fix on your end. In the meantime, if you'd like access, you can follow this article to join the Creative Cloud prerelease program: https://adobe.ly/4oHDXxx

Hi @michaljanata,
Thanks for sharing the details. Would you mind removing or changing the shortcut for Preview on CPU/GPU in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, save the set under a new name, and then assign Shift+E to your action. After that, restart InDesign and check if it sticks.
Could you also confirm which Windows OS you are using and let me know if creating a new shortcut set and reassigning works for you?
Looking forward to your update.

hi @Abhishek Rao , unfortunately it doesn't work... I tried to make completely new fresh new set based on default, removed shortcut from Preview GPU, assigned to my desired item (panel menu Link-Edit Original), but it still resets after indesign restart

Hi @michaljanata,
Thanks for giving that a shot and for confirming your OS details.
Can you try one more thing for me? Open InDesign through the Creative Cloud Desktop app, and before opening any document, go to the Keyboard Shortcuts panel. Create a new set based on the default. Then remove the Shift+E shortcut from the GPU Preview option under the View menu and assign it to your desired action. Once done, test if the new shortcut works. After that, close InDesign, reopen it, and check if the shortcut is still retained and working as expected.
Let me know how it goes. If it still doesn’t stick, I'll dig further with the team.

Hi @michaljanata,
Thank you for confirming and for trying all the steps. To help us investigate this further with the team, could you please share a short screen recording showing the complete workflow from creating the new shortcut set to assigning Shift+E and then the shortcut resetting after restarting InDesign?
Looking forward to your update.
