Hello everyone.

I've a layout in InDesign that has two sets of pages in two different languages.

Is it possible to hide all the pages, have a language selection pages with a button for each language, and on click only show the pages in the selected language?

Thanks!

Here is a video that shows the basics of how to work with Show/Hide in InDesign. I don't think you can actually open another page, but you could select a panel which would appear in the appropriate language:

But the problem of interactive PDF is that his will probably ONLY work with buttons like this if your readers are using either Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, and ONLY on a desktop/laptop computer. It wouldn't work with a mobile device. And it won't work with any other kind of PDF reader (not in browsers, not in Preview (Mac) and most other PDF readers.

There is a method that is not too complicated and can be done with layers (created in Indesign) and basic button action that shows the layer visibility (created in Acrobat). This method will not work if PDF is viewed from a browser. I have attached PDF, which you will need to download and view in Acrobat/Reader. If this works for you, and you have questions, please feel free to ask.

As mentioned, layers in InDesign (and Illustrator) can be controlled in Acrobat with buttons. However, this means the text is on the same page.

You can use Page Templates in Acrobat to "hide" pages and then use some JavaScript to show them. You wouldn't really hide them again but would need to automate the deletion of pages.

I've uploaded examples of each. Personally, I would use the layers method--much easier to implement in both programs.
