Stroke weight issues in Rectangle Image Frames

Explorer ,
Mar 22, 2024 Mar 22, 2024

Hi All,

I have an Indesign document with two rectangle image frames which is used stroke weight 1.0 pt and applied  Black colour. Here visually I am seeing difference in weight between Rectangle Frame 1 and Rectangle Frame 2.

Can anyone let me the root cause of the issue? I have attached my IDML here.

Regards,

Mani

While the final dimensions of the two frames are the same, one has been scaled down, and the other has not:

Hi @mani34374446to41 , Also, the fix is to select the scaled frame and choose Redifine Scaling to 100% from the Transform panel flyout menu:

You can change the scaling behavior via Preferences>General>When Scaling:

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

BTW, thanks for sending the IDML file. That's the only way I could have diagnoxed your issue!

Hi @rob day@Steve Werner , @kglad Thank you so much! Now problem resolved.

I would like to know how it is happening (I could not able to Turn ON Redefine Scaling as 100% for my new rectangle frame)

I would like to know how it is happening

Your When Scaling General Preference (see capture in my first post) will affect whether Redefine Scaling is available. When it is set to Apply to Content with Include Stroke Weight uncheck only the content of the frame will be scaled, the content’s container frame is always defined as 100%. Here the image is selected and its scale is 61%:

The container frame always remains at 100% and the stroke doesn’t change because I have Include Stroke Weight unchecked

If I set the Preference to Adjust Scaling Percentage, the content and the frame are scaled independent of each other:
