Hey InDesign Community – I am creating interactive pdfs and wanted to know if I can insert every font I want in interactive textfields? Or do the fonts have to be installed on the computer of the people using the interactive pdf afterwards? Thank you in advance for your Answer! Best
Give up tryng to control which font is used INSIDE the form fields by the end user, even though Adobe lets you spec that in your screen capture.
As @BobLevine stated, the user will have to have that exact font installed locally on their computer to use it.
And what are the chances of that happening? Probably worse than the odds of winning the billion-dollar lottery!

...The thing is, though, that when you specify a font for inside a form field in Acrobat (the font the end-user will be using to fill in the form) that font is embedded in the PDF, so even if the end-user does not have that font installed on their computer, they will still be able to fill in the form with the font the designer has specified.
For some reason, InDesign's built-in method of specifying fonts for form fields does not employ that mechanism, so the chosen font is not embedded in the PDF.

For short forms, you could use the free version of FormMagic, which will allow any font to be used on any machine, even if it's not installed locally.

FormMagic, though, uses Acrobat's system, so all fonts specified with FormMagic in InDesign will be available to the end user who is filling out the interactive PDF, even if those fonts are not available on their system.
