Hello
The File>Package menu is grayed out. It is therefore impossible to use this function. Does anyone have a solution? I'm using the latest version of InDesign (Creative Cloud subscription) and my Mac is running Sequoia 15.1.1
Bonjour
Sorry, but I have a saved file open. Here is another screen capture. And you can see, I can't use the Package command.

Is it a cloud doc? Packaging isn't available for cloud docs.

There is no file open in your screen capture. You must have a saved file open to use the Package command.

As-tu essayé de réenregistrer le fichier ailleurs ? Ou sous un autre nom ?

Oui.

We didn't hear from OP yet, but a cloud doc is most likely the reason.
I think the unavailability of the Package command for cloud docs is handled in a confusing way, which leads to questions like this one (and it's not the first time).
I think it'd be better if the Package menu were enabled, but displayed a message that this functionality is unavailable for a cloud doc. It's not perfect but better than just keeping the user in the dark.
Or maybe changing the disabled menu title to something like Package (disabled for cloud doc). Long, but still acceptable. Or adding a submenu with this info. Or something else. Just not the way it's handled now.

Yeh I'm aware the OP hasn't replied - but as soon as you said it I remembered. I don't use Cloud or Packaging at all really - but as soon as you said it I remember others saying similar.
The best option would be allow Package to happen - but advise that it can't be packaged from the cloud and all assets will be downloaded - select a folder - and it downloads first, then packages.
Or something like that.
Disabling is a bit short-sighted.

I think I've found it: the files for which the Package command is not available are all files with the suffix .inddc (probably cloud docs). Files with the suffix .indd are OK.
Thanks a lot

Yes, these are cloud docs. When you open such a file in a tab, you should also see a cloud icon:

When your file comes from Illustrator, use AI or PDF/X-4. SVG or SVGZ is not for files which are supposed to print. SVG is only for web or screen onlyx purposes.

All good sugestions so far - however one thing might be at play is the file itself.
Try exporting to IDML - then open that file in InDesign - resave as a new name - see if the menu item is back.
