My document measures 5.5" x 8.5". The exported PDF occupies more pages than the indd so that the TOC now points to the wrong pages.
My first instinct was simply to adjust the page numbers based on what I saw in the pdf. But this is wasteful, possibly error prone, etc.
Wondering if there is setting in the export dialog, where I can fix this, rather than going back after the fact, adjusting, re-exporting, etc.
Best,

Something is not right here. Can you show us a couple of screenshots demonstrating different text on ID and PDF pages?

Why is that? Are you combining pages from another PDF into your InDesign PDF with Acrobat?

No additional PDF pages.
It is just that each PDF-exported page appears to contain slightly less text than an indd page. Maybe something about margins, page numbers, etc.? I’m just guessing here.

Thanks to both of you. I just finished updating my backup copy, exported to PDF, and the new, exported PDF tracks the ID file perfectly. I'm at a loss as to what happened earlier, but thanks for your heads-up, which triggered me go to the backup copy.

The PDF should match the ID file exactly. However, it is possible to have font problems if printing to the Adobe PDF print driver.
How are you creating the PDF?
