Hi, same problem here all day. All other apps work except PS, AI, ID.

Hi everyone,
We’ve received reports of apps crashing or becoming unresponsive after launch, particularly following the release of version 19.5. Unlike generic crashes, this issue specifically causes all Adobe apps to get stuck at the splash screen or enter a “not responding” state, preventing them from launching.
The problem has been traced to certain Beta Adobe applications related to video composition and editing. We recommend updating all Beta and released versions of video-specific Adobe

Adobe really needs to fix several things in 18.5. In my case the thing flat refused to close and comsuming resourses in the background. Downgraded to 18.4 solved the issue.
One would think since going to a subscription model they'd be able to put on a few more engineers to fix these problems faster. Quite frankly these ongoing issues are costing a lot of productivity. One of our designers have been dealing with crash issues similar to what we see in this thread.

I have been having a lot of issues with InDesign this week and am wondering if these are common problems? It takes a long time for the software to open and it also crashes a ton. Sometimes InDesign freezes and I can't save a document or create a new document or even exit out of InDesign, so I have to force quit. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but I'm still running into these problems. Is there something I can do to help with this?

If you are using InDesign version 18.5 with Ventura then this is an often reported issue. Some users have been able to fix it by upgrading to the latest version of Ventura (13.5.1). Others have been forced to reinstall InDesign 18.4.

Thanks! I updated Ventura and that helped a ton. I will probably reinstall InDesign to help with the slowness, but other than that the crashing is happening less frequently.

Hi All
Working off a MacBook Pro/ Ventura OS system and this is the second time my InDesign won't launch. The App is fully updated to the most current version. Last time (two weeks ago), I had to completely uninstall and reinstall to get it to work. Same issue is happening again. Anyone else experience this or have suggestions as to why it keeps happening?
Boy, do I miss the day of non-subscription based Creative Suite programs.

Is your Mac fully updated. There have been other reports that the latest Mac update fixed this kind of issue.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the

Good evening Eugene, I uninstalled and installed Indesign with the procedure you suggested, but nothing has changed, if I close it it won't open anymore.

I suggest troubleshooting your Mac - it should be working.
There are a number of tutorials online to trouble shoot your Mac running Ventura.

If you're running InDesign 18.5, then it sounds like an issue that many other users experience (judging by the amount of similar posts on the forum).
First, update to macOS 13.5. It solved the issue for some users.
If it doesn't help, then users recommend to install an earlier version - preferably 18.3. You can do it from the Creative Cloud app:

Hi @prismagraf ,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. As suggested by others, please update the macOS as that will probably solve the issue. If possible, please share the system logs by following the steps shared here for investigation purposes. In case it still doesn't work even after updating the OS, then we'll need logs for investigation.
Thanks

I keep seeing threads saying to uninstall and reinstall InDesign to fix the crsahing upon opening (mine crashes within a second, no loading or anything. Instant rejection). And yes, it does open when I re-install. However, when I am done with InDesign for the day and quit the program as usual, the next time I open it, same issue and I have to un and re-install AGAIN. Every day. It's so frusterating! What is going on? I could just forever leave it open, but that is a dumb work-around. How can I get this program to work as it should?

We need some more information about your system: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using. Have you just done an update on either InDesign and/or your operating system.

Same issue as above, I am running Ventura 13.2.1 OS and InDesign 18.5. As long as I leave InDesign open, it's fine. But once I close it it and reopen it it, I have to uninstall and reinstall. Every time. I hadn't updated my OS or InDesign when this problem began, and it's been going on for 2-3 weeks now. Very aggravating, to say the least.

I strongly suggest updating to the current version of Ventura 3.5. It solved problems for me with InDesign.
