Why do I get SharedContent plugin error?

My indd document was created in iD CS5.5. On opening in iD CS5, there is a popup which says that SharedContent plugin was used in the creation of the file. The popup then provides the option to proceed anyway. Will I be safe doing that, or is there a workflow for installing the plugin in CS5?

Out of curiosity... how does one fix something like this? I've being trying

to Google the fix. Aside from asking the original designer to export as

IDML... what other solution is there?

There is no other way than going through .idml.

Okay I get it... but the economy prevents one these days from upgrading

every piece of software... becomes heavy on the pocket when you just

starting your one man show business. Nonetheless, thank you for link. I

Creative Cloud is the best way for a freelancer to go, IMO.

It allows for easy budgeting and keeps you up to date since it will also

include the next version of Creative Suite when it launches. Many people

spend more at Starbucks than Creative Cloud costs.

Has anyone helped you yet? I'm going to be out for most of the day, but I can do it this evening if you send me a link to the file. You can use a file share service like YouSendIt.com to send it to yourself if you don't have another way to post it someplace, then put the link in a Private Message and send it to me (click my name to go to my profile and you'll see Send Private Message in the list on the right). In your message be sure to tell me waht version you need to be able to open in.

Could somebody give me any idea why i am getting the same error (as others) when I am using the same version of InDesign to create a document a year ago but cannot open it now?

I only have CS5, so i dont understand why I can't open the document now?
