Formatting in Maldivian / Dhivehi language

I assume I need the ME edition? I don't have the ME version installed, I saw a post that said that if I want both ME and English installed I have to go with an older version of one of them?

In the English edition, the Character panel language dropdown shows Arabic, but not Maldivian/Dhivehi, will the ME edition have that in the dropdown?

Willi meant that you can download another InDesign version with Arabic support without removing existing version which you may have already on your machine.

Dear Yazeedh,

I watched the tutorial video. Isn't it better to download the Middle Eastern version of Illustrator so you can have Right-to-Left controls? I can see in your video that text is moving Left to Right, while in the Maldives you write from the Right - isn't it?

In the Middle Eastern version of InDesign and Illustrator, we have this tool to force the text direction to begin from the Right side…

You can install another version upon the other version, change the language in the CC app and install again above.

I don't understand the how of what you're saying. What do you mean by "upon" the other version?

No, the drop list doesnot show Dhivehi on my Middle Eastern version of InDesign, never the less, the language will be supported in InDesign as far as Right-to-Left is concerned.

Don't forget the drop list is basically a dictitionary option, it has nothing to do with what you type or place on the page/document.

I don't use Dhivehi, howver, after adding a font to my Mac and Dhivehi language in the System Preferences I was able to type and control Dhivehi text in InDesign.
