Neon Colours for Printing in Indesign help please!

Hello everyone

 

I have a client who has selected some colours they wish to use.  One in particular a neon green is causing an issues.  The RGB values are 57 255 20 however whatever I seem to try through the export process isn't working when printing - I've tried various spot colours / pantones etc.  When exporting I've tried combinations of exporting with no colour conversion, or conversation to various destinations.

 

Could someone advise on if there is a way to achieve the results wanted when printing (I assume there must be as you see neon signs/posters around sometimes in print), and a guide to the way forward?  Thank you for all you help.  Please remember I am a simpleton so simple instructions on achieving my goal if possible is appreciated!

The way those neon colors are achieved is by the use of Spot Colors.
The only way to accuratly print those spot colors is to pay for an extra ink color on press. The ink is mixed to order as a neon green, and is in a separate well on the press. The is no way to get this kind of color by mixing CMYK.

Neon colors are a 5th ink that you will pay extra for. go to new color swatch. in the drop down meny for color mode look for the neons panthone book options. and load your color. It would be a good idea for you to order a panthone book to have on hand to show clients what these inks look like in print. or have your printer send you some sample. check before using, the paper you use will also affect the color of the ink.. check before using is important.

    In my latest downloaded version of Indesign, the pantone color books aren't included. How can I add them? Now there are only Pantone+ CMYK and Pantone+ Metallics.

    Adobe no longer installs the .acb files for you, you have to do it yourself. See this for options:
