After the last update it gives an error: failure loading masking models. Try again later. Reinstallation didn't help.

How to resolve this issue?

I am having the same problem with Lightroom Classic and it doesn't give me an option to go back to previous version. Will uninstalling and installing it again work? I really need to fix this issue asap, slowing my work flow down rapidly. Please help.

Note that the recommended workaround is to downgrade to 14.2

I am having the same issue on 5/1/25. Lightroom Classic was updated 2 days ago, and upon installing presets to my new working catalog (I create a catalog for each session) I am unable to use any presets. Would love a solution that doesn't invovle downloading an older version. Busy summer coming up!

Bonjour, je viens de télécharger la dernière version de Lightroom et j'ai constaté que lorsque j'essaier de copier/coller les paramètres, un bandeau rouge apparait disant "le téléchargement de certains modèles Masquage a échoué. Veuillez réessayer ultérieurement"

j'ai tenté de copier coller  en cochant/décochant certains paramètres ca n'a rien changer, j'ai également désinstaller/réinstaller et rien n'y fait

Hey @Sameer K how's it going?  I just recently (April 28, 2025) ran into the same issue and getting the same message like "Some masking models failed to download" when click on the preset "Adaptive Portrait".  I am using a Mac Mini 2018 the last two years that I've been editing in Lightroom.  Can Kindly provide some direction/answer as to how to fix it?

I keep having this error after applying any preset. I cannot use any of my presets anymore and it's impacting a lot my work flow. Can anyone help fixing this issue? I have this error since the last upgrade of Lightroom CC.

Due to my system limitation (I've been using a Mac Mini 2018 the last two years for editing), Lightroom Classic 14.3 is not compatible and continues to give me error messages for Masking upgrades.  So I switched back to the 14.2 version is I am able to continue editing with no issues.  Thanks to the post on how to go back to the old version!  Much appreciated!

I downgraded to the version 14.2 and it's fixed now. Apparently it was the issue with version 14.3

Updated to the new Lightroom version a few days ago in the midst of editing senior portraits. It's been SIGNIFICANTLY slower in applying settings/edits, and isn't able to download simple jpeg photos. It keeps giving me the error "Some export operations had warnings or errors...There was an unknown error." I'm going to attempt to revert back to the previous Lightroom version and see if that works, but I literally have people waiting on me to get these images out so they can send invites, so it's incredibly frustrating.
