P: Later loading of the color scheme of a photo rather than the photo itself

Since the latest version of Lightroom 3.0, it has been introduced that a photo loads faster than its actual colour. Sometimes I have to wait a second after opening a photo to get the correct colouring. This is very annoying as it's hard to focus on comparing the photo against the previous one. Is it possible to turn this off somehow? I would prefer to wait even a second for a photo to appear already with the correct colour scheme rather than initially having to preview a false version.

So after the last update (13.0.2.) it is much more bearable, it still happens, especially for raw and tiff (edited in photoshop) it does not do it at all for dng images where I removed the noise from the photo)
Mostly it happens when I first click on photos I haven't looked at in a while and especially just after opening lightroom, but once it's loaded and I'm clicking back and forth it doesn't do it anymore. Before it did it every time I scrolled a photo, even if I just cycled through two photos side by side and quickly clicked through.
But I just updated, it will need more testing, but I already know it's better.
But most importantly, it solved a bug where I wanted to crop an edited photo and when I clicked enter, the whole lightroom crashed (I had to click out with the mouse)

I have this problem too, it's very annoying I tried really hard to mess with preferences, clear cache, uncheck auto load preview etc. nothing worked

I've been seeing this since v12 at least but probably longer. When initially loading in develop it shows the image with a white balance that is way off (image is very blue) just for half a second. It's just a momentary flash but like OP it messes with your color perception. This only happens to images that have never been taken into develop before and it doesn't matter what kind of preview you built. This is not a big deal to me but I have wondered what it was and I just wrote it off as loading of the raw data onto the GPU stack and the rendering stack being built as one is watching. This is on a 16" M1 Max MBP 32 GB.

A suggestion to try- When you import your photos to the Catalog- Set the File Handling to Build previews that are "Standard" or "1:1".

This will force LrC to build the preview with colors as determined by LrC (as in set profiles or Presets).

Using "Embedded & Sidecar" means that the camera generated preview remains visible until an image is edited, resulting in that "wait a second".

Unfortunately, my problem is primarily with the already created directories. I am a wedding photographer and I select everything on the fly - I also give away the trailer. I currently have about 25 created directories where this problem occurs. Is it possible to apply these settings to already created catalogs? Before upgrading Lightroom to version 13, this problem did not occur and everything displayed instantly. Now with each photo I have to wait about 0.5-1 sec for it to update to the color scheme I applied to the photo. This greatly distorts the perception of the photo making adjustments photo by photo.

I see this too. It takes about 0.5 seconds for a photo to show the final edits. This has nothing to do with embedded previews (that I never use). When the photo is displayed, I initially do see some edits, but it's as if the 'final touch' needs that extra half second for some reason. Maybe it's masks or some other AI stuff that needs a final quick check, I have no idea.

Of course, this is about Lightroom version 13, not version 3.
