P: "Copy History Step Settings to Before" not working in certain situations

Community Beginner ,

There seems to be a bug with the "Copy History Step Settings to Before" option in the History panel.

For example, in the Develop module, when viewing a photo with no edits, toggling between the Before and After views should show no difference — so far, so good. However, if you select the "Import" step in the History panel and choose "Copy History Step Settings to Before," then toggle between Before and After, you may notice unexpected color differences.

Additionally, if you apply "Auto Settings" in the Basic adjustments panel and try to use "Copy History Step Settings to Before" on that step, it simply doesn’t work. Why?

I'm using Lightroom Classic 14.2 on Windows 10.
