Question

Could not update AI settings for 1 photo.

Good morning. With the new Lightroom Classic update, when I copied the settings including masks and then pasted to the next photo, I found this message "could not update AI settings for 1 photo". It happens to me with the "people" mask. Then I hit "update all" and the problem persists. What could it be?

If you share the photo here, we can determine whether this is an issue with the photo itself (a possible bug) or your LR installation. In Library, select the photo and do Metadata > Save Metadata To File. Then upload the photo and (if it is raw) it's .xmp sidecar to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar, and post the sharing link here.

Thanks for your support. I have had the problem since the latest versions of Lightroom Classic 13.2 and 13.3. I conclude that it is not a specific photo, because the same error happens with all of them. With version 13.1 I don't have that problem, I can copy the settings with the masks and paste in batch without errors.

If you select a photo to which you pasted and go into Develop, do you see a red dot under the Masking button?

Do the menu command Settings > Update AI Settings -- does the red dot go away?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
