Enhance Details broken - All-black preview and final render

Hello all.

I was super excited about the new Enhance Details feature rolling out today.  However, something about it refuses to work for me.  When I select the feature on an image, the preview pane only shows a completely black pane on the "Enhanced" version.  Furthermore, when I click the "Enhance" button, processor and GPU rev up and the progress bar moves, but ultimately it only renders a completely black DNG.  This seems to happen on any photo in my collection.  I have verified that I am updated to the correct version of windows, and that I am working on a CR2 RAW file.  Screenshots:

    Same issue here too.. Windows 10 ver 1809 Nvidia GTX 650 T1 - with up to date drivers...

    I'm another with the same black DNG file.  My computer had not updated to 8109, so I did that.  I turned the GPU on an off in Lightroom.  I updated the Nividia driver on an ASUS gamer laptop.  Still the same.  Tried both Panasonic and Olympus RAWs.

    The latest driver for the GTX670M is 391.35 from March 2018.   I'd try another but nothing is as high as 417.71.

    Hi all,

    Sorry for the black images when using Enhance Details.

    Trends I'm noticing among these system infos are NVIDIA cards (except one Intel) and driver 481.81. Wondering if you try another, previous, NVIDIA driver if that makes a difference?

    Perhaps 417.71? - Drivers | GeForce https://www.geforce.com/drivers

    Anybody interested in trying that out and testing if it makes a difference for you?

    Hi Pete - I was actually having this issue previous to updating my graphics drivers, too.  If I recall, I was using 416.18, and have had the issue on both the old and updated drivers.

    My biggest complaint is, it consumes all of my system resources and never produces anything.  Have to do a hard reboot to take back control of my machine.

    On that Nikon, not a Nikon owner, so this might be bull. Are those small RAW files (sRAW???)

    And what flavor of RAW?

    what I am getting at is:

    Unsupported file formats
    Enhance Details does not apply to the following types of source images:

    • Non-raw files such as a JPEGs, TIFFs, and HEICs
    • Linear DNGs (including HDR and pano DNG images previously created inside Lightroom and Camera Raw)
    • DNG proxies and Smart Previews
    • Monochrome raw files (such as Leica M MONOCHROM)
    • Four-color cameras
    • Foveon sensor images
    • Fujifilm cameras with SR, EXR, or 2×4 mosaic sensors.
    • Canon S-RAW/M-RAW files
    • Nikon small raw files
    • Pentax Pixel Shift Resolution (PSR) files
    • Sony ARQ files
    • Video files

    These are Canon RAW files, using the CR2 format.  While I do have smart previews created, the original photos are also present.  It would seem weird to have to delete any smart previews in order to use this feature when the original file is also there.

    Could you please try updating the graphics drivers from the manufacturer's website and let us know if it helps?
    Also, what gpu is installed in the computer?

    Could you please share your system info here? Please go to Help > System info, copy all the text and paste it here, that would be helpful.
