I cannot get Lightroom Classic to open my catalog after updating OS to Tahoe 26.1

Hi. I updated my Mac OS to Tahoe 26.1 and now I can't get Lightroom Classic v15.0 to open my catalog. My catalog is on a connected external drive. In Catalog Settings I choose the location of my catalog and Lightroom shows no photos at all. It displays no folders at all. It displays no Collections.

How do I get LR to open my catalog? I've read how to do it here but nothing works. I don't get an error message saying LR can't find my catalog. Even though my external hard drive with the catalog is connected to my Mac, in the Catalog Settings under "Backups" it shows 'Path (* Offline)...see below.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

Thank you for any help with this.

I'm confused by this. Why are you talking about Catalog settings? What did you go in there for? Catalog settings never shows photos or collections.

It sounds like you accidentally opened the wrong catalog file. Please use your operating system's search feature to find all files whose name ends with .LRCAT and double-click on each one found to open it in LrC until you find the catalog you want.

Oh...I remember the tone of some replies posted here. Not so helpful. Small wonder so many people here complain about the snarky replies. Please give it a rest and try a bit harder to just be helpful.

I agree with @dj_paige in his reply, and he his trying to be helpful and not snarky.

Your screenclip about Catalog settings is showing BACKUPS- nothing at all to do with what should be your current working catalog, and the way to find this working catalog is just as described by @dj_paige  "Please use your operating system's search feature to find all files whose name ends with .LRCAT and double-click on each one found to open it....." See these Adobe Help links for the same advice:

And also consider that the system OS upgrade may have changed file and folder permissions

Hi Rob. I think I have gotten help from you in the past and have always found your replies helpful.

Say what you will about @dj_paige's

reply...it just rubbed me the wrong way. I see enough of the snark here that I have become sensitve to it. Perhaps overly sensitive...but none the less I don't believe I am the only one who finds such replies annoying. Just give me the facts without the judgements. I don't need nor appreciate comments like his, "Why are you talking about Catalog settings? What did you go in there for?" Please, show a bit of respect. Be respectful if you are going to comment on this forum is my feeling.

I finally found my catalog in a folder where I direct my backups to and I was able to open LrC such that it is working fine.

Thank you Rob for your straight forward response. It is refreshing.

Firislander.
