Lightroom 3.6 font tiny on 4K external monitor

I have a 4K Windows 10 laptop and an external 4K ultrawide monitor. The menu font size is so tiny that I literally have to use a magnifying glass to see what is on the menu windows. I was able to set in /edit/preferences/interface/panels/font size to large (it's either that or small) and no change. Unreadable. If I change my display settings in windows to lower res it makes no difference at all in Lightroom's menus. I was running Lightroom 3.6 in a 1080p laptop connected to the same monitor and I could read it fine, no issues. But now, with my new 4K laptop, hoping to use my external monitor at its max resolution, fail.

Am I SOL or is there a fix somewhere?

A program of that age was not written with the idea of a 4k monitor, so you may be out of luck

I don't know if the ideas below will work with a program that old

Adjusting font size for a high DPI display https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2171036 see reply #2
