Lightroom Catalog is corrupt

HI everyone.

 

my Lighroom won't launch in Win10, I have tried deleting the preferences file under 

 

C:\Users\Khosrow Jalali\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences but no change.

 

I don't have a backup of my system unforetunately, so it doesn't help.

I also tried holding the <Shift> <Alt> keys when launching LRC however nothing happens. Can anyone suggest something?

Why do you think your catalog is corrupt? Please provide details.

 

If you are getting a message that Lightroom Classic needs to repair your catalog (you didn't say this was the message), then I would agree your catalog is corrupt. Corrupt catalog, if it can't be repaired, and no backups, I think you have to start over. Your current catalog is gone, will never come back.

 

From now on, make regular and automated backups of your catalog file and all of your photos (and anything else that you want to be sure to have in case of some type of catastrophe).

Please read my post. I DON'T think my Catalogue is Corrupt. On launch LRC is giving me an error message that "Lightroom Catalogue" is corrupt, which it isn't.

All my images along with my Catalogues are stored on an External drive .I can access these on a Mac but I cant access them on a Windows 10 Machine which I was able to previously.

Instead of jumping into a conclusion, why don't you try asking the poster for more details.

Just FYI, my Catalogues are stored on two different locations. I was talking about backup of my system not Catalogue.

I reread your original post, I don't see where you said that "On launch LRC is giving me an error message that "Lightroom Catalogue" is corrupt"

 

I did ask for more details. My very first paragraph above asked for more details.

Hey Khosrow, We're sorry for the trouble you have experienced with Lightroom. 

 

I'll need more details to help you. What version of Lightroom and operating system are you using? Is your catalog stored on an internal or external drive? How many images were there in the catalog?

Thanks for the link you have included in your email.

my System is a Windows 10 OS, and I am currently the latest version of Lightroom Classic on it( I don't know the version #)

I have a back up of all my images and catalogues on an external drive but when I plug this drive into my Windows 10 machine

Lightroom Classic is giving me an error message. I will go through the link you have sent to see if there is a workaround for this issue.
