Lightroom Classic 8.0 Slowness

Over the past 2 weeks, I have noticed that Lightroom Classic 8.0 has been getting progressively slower as I use it. Closing lightroom and restarting my computer corrects the problem. Yesterday, a scan from Malwarebytes reported a probable memory leak. Is there a fix forthcoming.

i have the same problem. LR 8 gets progressively slow at a point that most features stop working, and at some point i can't even click and drag anything. closing and opening solves it, but it is quite ridiculous and annoying.

i noticed that LR only uses 13GB RAM and then it stops there and starts to get slow and slow. it's horrible. LR 8 only uses about 20% to 30% of CPU, while Photoshop uses everything, all CPU and even 32GB of RAM and even when using all resources Photoshop is insanely fast. i really don't understand why adobe manages to make Photoshop works so well and LR so bad.

i'm now on a i7-7700HQ 32GB RAM working on a NVMe SSD, and LR 8 runs as bad as it was running on a 5 years old i7 with half the RAM and a mechanical hard drive.

i already tried all tips available, like increasing the cash size and disable the gpu optimization... nothing makes it better.

I never used LR 7, but LR 6 was slightly better.

I really don't understand why LR 8 doesn't use all my laptop's CPU and memory before slow down. even cheaper games take better advantage of my hardware. it's weird.

If you are using many local adjustments, brushing, spot removal tool, etc., a very noticeable slowdown will happen. The most satisfactory solution is to do those adjustments in Photoshop after you do the main (global) processing adjustments in Lightroom.
