Lightroom Classic doesn't work on Mac Book Pro

Hello,

my Lightroom Classic doesn't work on my new MAC Book Pro.

both have the lates updates.

specs of the mac book:

Intel® Core™ i7-8750H Prozessor (9M Cache, bis zu 4.1 GHz)

 AMD Radeon Pro 560X 4GB

16 GB DDR4 - 2400 MHz

the problem is when I'm using Lightroom and edit a photo for example and the more steps i do for example adjustmentbrush and automask and so on, the worse it get's - the mac ball (the little beachvolleyball, when loading) apears all the time. It makes it impossible to work like that.

Adobe already advised: i should create a new user (account) on my mac - but unfortunately it didn't help.

I've already tried almost every  tip and trick to make lightroom faster: increasing the cache etc. but nothing was better.

i don't know what to do anymore, can somone help me?

Thank you!

BR Stipe

System requirements..

On macOS, you need 10.13 High Sierra or later to run Lightroom 9.0. To benefit from GPU acceleration, you need macOS 10.14.5 or later and a computer that supports Metal. There’s a list of supported hardware here.

Regards, Denis: iMac 27” mid-2015, macOS 11.7.10 Big Sur; 2TB SSD, 24 GB Ram, GPU 2 GB; LrC 12.5,; Lr 6.5, PS 24.7,; ACR 15.5,; (also Laptop Win 11, ver 24H2, LrC 15.0.1, PS 27.0; ) Camera Oly OM-D E-M1.

Hi,  DdeGannes,

thank you for your answer.

the MAC has the latest update / now: MacOS Catalina

sorry for the question: is metal an app?

i think my mac would support it for sure cause it's a mac 2019 with macOS Catalina.
