Lightroom Classic: Exporting Slideshow Heavily Pixelates and Blurs Some Images

Hi all,

I use Lightroom Classic 9.2.1 from 2020 to develop high resolution JPG photos (from a Lumix DMC FZ1000 camera) and then export a slideshow video. Some of the images are heavily pixelated and blurry, others are slightly this way, and others are perfect.

The issue occurs whether I watch it locally on VLC media player on a large or small screen or if I stream an uploded version on Google Drive.

I tried re-developing one of the worst offending images, and it made no difference.   When looking at the images in the develop module they look fine.

I have attached one of the offending images in developed form and undeveloped form, but both cause the same problem.  The developed image can be seen pixelated in the video here:

This is quite a problem, so I hope someone may have encountered and managed to resolve it. 🙂

thank you

Chris

The Original Post indicates Lightroom Classic 9.x.  Please update to the current 12.5 and advise if the problem disappears.

My first thought is that the 'Panning' action that moves the image during playback is having a 'hard-time' displaying the detail. Try a slide show without the panning.

I see a similar 'jittering' of the image in a SS preview.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Thank you Rob,

Good thought, but that only sort of partially helps, there is still some pixelation when changing frames, but pretty much gone in the frames themselves, though they are still blurry.   Here is an example:

The interesting thing is that when I "preview" or "play" the slideshow in the slideshow module, the slideshow is perfect.  It seems the problem is coming from the exporting process.  I wonder if I have some setting wrong for the slideshow export?  I use the 1080 option.  Would the video/audio balance in the "playback" section make any difference?

Would the size of the files matter?  It doesnt seems so, some 10 MB work perfect some dont.

This is a better example...here is a short video example showing the first 2 slides very clear and then the next three pixelated and blurry:
