Lightroom Classic V8.4.1 Won't Start

When I try to boot latest update, it says my catalogue is already running, shut it down or choose another catalogue. I only have the one catalogue and it is not running elsewhere. (PC, Windows 10).  Am thinking to make a copy of my good catalogue and give it a new name, but am concerned that a number of other files associated with .lrcat should also be "rehabilitated" and am not sure what they are and whether the idea is indeed feasible. I have tried without success un and re installing V8.4.1, and also reinstalling V8.4. 

I do not see this problem has been posted since  V8.4.1 was issued some this must be my particular issue. Would appreciate any comments the community might have before I try something that might that foul things up!!

    With Lightroom closed, go to the sub folder where the LR Catalog file is stored, by default it would be in  user > Pictures/ My Pictures >  Lightroom, check the files in the folder if there is a file with the same as the Catalog ending with a .lock (LOCK) extention. If a lock file is there delete that file, ensuring you do not delete the .lrcat Catalog file.

    Then double click on the Catalog file and Lightroom application should boot and open the Catalog.

      Please check if there's a .lock file with the same name as the appropriate catalog in the same folder.
