Lightroom freezes when I use "Enhance" - for denoise or resolution

After working well for several weeks, Lightroom now freezes when I attempt to use the Enhance feature - either denoise or resolution.

 

When I attempt to use Enhance, the following status is displayed:

Once the progress bar reaches the end, the program freezes.

 

Please help - while I also use Topaz AI to denoise and enhance images, I prefer to stay in Lightroom.

Hopefully OP solved their issue detailed above, but for anyone that hasn't and has been brought here by a Google search, I experienced the same issue where AI Denoising would "freeze" up my Lightroom Classic and became totally unresponsive.

 

After clicking "Denoise", the Enhance Info popup would show up, load up around 90% of the way, and just stops completely. Sometimes, the Enhance popup would not even show and the program seemed to lock up completely.

 

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Or at least MY solution was so stupid and, honestly, kind of embarrassing. I have a second monitor that is usually off. For some godforsaken reason, when I clicked "Denoise", the Enhance Preview box was going to the display that was off, so all I would see on my primary display was Lightroom with the "Denoise" button stuck in the "clicked in" animation and the rest of the Lightroom window would become unresponsive UNTIL I pressed ALT-F4. Then it would "suddenly" start working again, when in reality, all I was doing was ALT-F4'ing the Enhance Preview box, resulting in Lightroom becoming responsive again.

 

TLDR: If you have a second (or multiple monitors), make sure the Denoise popups (or any popups for that matter) weren't accidentally moved to a different screen awaiting your input.

 

For the record, I'm on the latest version of Lightroom Classic (13.5.1) with the latest NVIDIA studio drivers for my 1070 (560.81) on Windows 11.

    @Maredu Photography, thanks for those helpful details about your issue. That's one example (among many) of why resetting LR's preferences fixes so many disparate problems -- in your case, the Enhance Preview dialog remembers its last position in the preferences file, and resetting preferences would reset its last position.

      Oh My God... I have had this problem for over 6 months, I was so angry I cant use denoise...

       I almost unnecessarily upgraded my GPU to less efficient NVIDIA model.... THANK A LOT, that solved everything!!!!

      @patrickm35710705, please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

        Note that the Author had previously posted a similar issue as follows:

        But the author never responded back with a reply to an inquiry about System Information. Nor followed up with a solution, etc.

         

        Now the current post is just a day old, but the older one is a few months. Perhaps the author does not trust sending such info to fellow members? Am I asking the wrong question?

         

        Also, should the two related posts be merged?
