Question

Lr Classic not recognising memory cards on Mac

LrC V11.4.1

Mac OS Monterey

Memory card is not being detected. This started after one of the updates a few weeks ago.
I have checked the Preferences and the 'show import dialog when a memory card is detected' is ticked. The card works on another computer. It will work on my Mac if I shut everything down and reboot the computer and open LrC again! Not ideal!
I would be grateful for your help

The MACOS Monterey, what version? May have been a bug fixed in v12.3

What type of memory card? Does it show in MacOS Finder? MacOS sees CFExpress cards as removable disks, not as cards. Because Lightroom Classic uses the MacOS API, it will react the same.

The same SD cards I have been using successfully for years.

It no longer shows up either in Finder or on the desktop list as usual. I understand what you mean by removable disks though. My camera calls them cards but the computer calls them removable disks.

Bizarrely though if I shut the computer down and restart everything I can get the photos in but it won't do it again.
Very frustrating!

How are you trying to read them? Meaning, via SD card reader that is part if the computer (thinking laptop), external SD card reader , via connecting camera to computer via USB, or WiFi ?

If using external SD card reader, is it connected to computer, or a hub?

What are you regering to? Two versions of LrC on your computer? When running LrC for your import, what one is in use?

No, not two versions of LrC.

I followed the steps in the link Johnrellis sent me above and I was referring to steps 2 and 3 in that. Sorry for any confusion.

As a first troubleshooting step, verify that you've granted LR Full Disk Access, following the precise steps here:

Hello again, sorry for delay in replying. Thank you for your suggestion but unfortunately it has not worked.
I restarted my computer and just checked to see that both of the additions of Lr Classic in steps 2 & 3 are still ticked which they are.
