In the last few days I have been trying to compose some slideshows. Staring with a nominal 5 sec pause for each slide I identify a track of about the right lenght then use "fit to music". When rendered the music was stopping 30 seconds or so before the end of the slides. I noticed that in Explorer and media player one track was reported as being 5 min 25 sec long but LR was saying it was 6 min 10 seconds. This happened with other tracks on another slideshows. It seems LR is mis-reading the track lenght. I am having to calculate the slide length manually to fit the track length shown in Explorer etc. This seems to be a new problem. Anyone else suffered?

Hi - I went onto preferences and turned off the graphics card, removed the video cach limit and turned off the render previews in paralell. Then restarted LR. Since then the videos seem to be rendering faster and I have had only one failure out of 6 slideshows. The one failure I purged the caches and restarted lightroom and it rendered OK at the second attempt.

Hey, @MadDrongo. Welcome to Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.
Does this happen with a specific slideshow? As a test, try using a different catalog from File > New Catalog, beginning with a different set of images and checking if that helps.
If this does not help, a good step to troubleshoot this problem is to reset Lightroom Classic manually. Here's how you can do it:
C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences.old to the end of the filename). This reset can often resolve unexpected issues. If the problem persists, feel free to reach out for more help!
Thanks!

@Sameer K Hi, thanks for your suggestions. I've just tried setting up a new slide show and then tried adding and removing different tracks and compared the time shown in Media player and the time shown in LR. Most came out the same, some came out different by 1 second but one was nearly 60 seconds different. It seems the problem might be with the mp3 files? For example, two files that I chose at random - Raviole, which came out the same in both apps and The Warning, shown as 10:30 in Media Player but showed up as 11:19 in LR. I thought about attaching the files but was concerned about copyright issues.

@Sameer K @MadDogM Hi - tried the reset but the "music starting again after a short while" still persists. I haven't had any serious mistakes with the track lenght recently but some appear to be slightly truncated or a bit quieter than expexted for the lase few seconds. It seems Lightroom CC is generally unhappy, for example when I close it down and trey to restart it it wont - I have to reboot.

I'm having a similar problem. Been creating SS in LRC for years importing audio that I mixed in Audacity. But this time around it doesn't play the mp3 file in sequence and will repeat a previous song. I've checked and rechecked my mp3 file and found no errors. I can't export the SS until I know the music is playing the way I synced it up to the images. Ugggg!

Hi - I am now having similar issues. On several slideshows I have tried to render with music - after a short while the music stops and starts from the start of the track again. I have tried doing the render again after restarting the PC and-or lightroom and editing the track in Audacity and re-saving it but to no avail. I have not had problems before so now with the track length errors and this random re-start effect the slideshow function is becoming useless.

@MadDrongo @MadDogM hi guys, did you had a chance to resolve it somehow ?
Having the same issue with mp3 rendered in Audacity, when it suddenly jumps on the beginning of the sountrack.
Also - Was able o reproduce it on several computers with clean catalog on version 14.1.1 and when downgraded to 13.5.1 (for a test, it can be a solution as catalogs can't be downgraded) - it works fine
Seems like 14.x bug...

This is driving me insane, I've wasted so many hours on this!
Trying to export a wedding slideshow and the music just restarts halfway through to the beginning track. My audacity mp3 file plays perfectly on its own. I've treid all of the reccemendations of restarts & preferences etc and still the same problem. This never used to be a problem, im not sure what to do moving forward with slideshows as its somethihng I offer my customers but this is becoming to much of a problem to cope with.

The only solution if you working with Audiocity - installing FFmpeg library and exporting project as mp4a
The most annoying thing, rather than not fixing it in current versions, is that Adobe employees here doesn't give this simple answer - Don't use mp3 , just export/convert to mp4a.

Hi - havent had any luck in correcting the wrong assessment of the audio track length or the restarting of the audio track. These problems are random and sometimes it works OK. I now check the track lengths in Explorer and confirm the actual length of the track(s) and use "fit to Music" but if LR doesnt get it right I have to adjust he slide length manually. I then render the video without the music and add the music later in Moviemaker. I did try uninstalling LR and PS and CC and reinstalling but that didnt work. CC wont update properly and I have tried all the fixes but they dont work. I got the update error even directly after the fresh insatll!!! The other problem I have is if I shut down LR and later try to restart it it wont start and I have to go into Task Manager and stop the process amnually. LR has also been craching randomly as well lately. Getting rather peeved with it.
