P: Generative Remove Feedback (Lr Classic & Lr Eco)

This post applies to Lightroom Classic and the Lightroom Ecosystem products.

Generative Remove makes it easier to remove unwanted objects and distractions with a simple gesture, even on complex backgrounds. For more accurate results, be sure to include the object's shadow in your selection and/or expand its size. 
 
Detect Objects uses AI to find the objects underneath a brushed area. The masked areas will now appear larger than the Early Access version of this feature. You can also circle objects for quicker selection now. 
 
We have also updated the spot selection experience to make it easier to manage variations, switch the fill type, refine the selection area, or re-generate as needed. 
 
Batch updating is also now supported for Generative Remove spots.

    Removed objects. But when I moved image to Photoshop those areas are now shaded.

    Tried using this today to remove a string of lights on a portrait and while one iteration removed most of the lights a grey line was left behind ... so not sucessfull 

    I did try making the selection larger but it still left a grey line in 20% of the delection

    When it comes to Generative Remove usually you will have no other choice then to generate anew.

    Check the screenshots:



    At this point Gen Remove failed, 3 version 0% usability.

    I need to rety.




    Ah ah, second attempt, variation 5 overall worked.



    6 version but overall only 1 works.
    1 in 6 success rate.

    Same image in Photoshop BUT with instructions when I type as instructions "Cat Fur"


    3 versions 1 works
    1 in 3 success rate...no need to iterate though version to see which works unlike LrC since thumbnails help.

    All it takes for Camera Raw to be more successful at removing is to add instruction..BUT that would open the door to also generating content on our images.

    That option is BTW one click away from you:  Edit in > Adobe Photoshop:

    When using the remove tool in Lightroom Classic with the Generative AI feature turned on, why does it insist on replacing people and animals we want to remove with other often monstrously distorted people and images. Why can't "Remove" mean remove what is highlighted?

    Most complaints about Remove are addressed in the article. But if it doesn't help, please attach a full-resolution JPEG exported from the unmodified original photo, so we and Adobe can see the issue in detail. With nearly everyone who has posted a problem photo, we've been able to show how to quickly remove the desired objects.

    After re-importing catalog and making sure `opacity` was set to 100% I got good results.

      Con la nueva versión Al abrir los catalogos anteriores,  desaparece todas las partes generadas con la opcion de remover con AI 

      urge asistencia inmediata para ver qué tengo que hacer para evitar perder todo el trabajo que ya había realizado en catalogos previos a la actualizacion

      Adobe just released LR 14.0.1 to fix this bug:

      If updating to 14.0.1 doesn't fix the issue, you may have to re-upgrade your catalog from the LR 13 version (see second reply from Adobe employee Rikk Flohr at the top of that thread).

       

      If you're still having problems, please add details of what you're observing and what you've tried (not just "same!") to that thread, including the full output from the menu command Help > System Info.

      The new remove has been working great, but as others have reported, when going into LRc the next day, the changes have gone back to the original.  HOWEVER, if you look at the erase icon, it will have a red dot under it.  Also a message "Some remove settings need to be upddated", with an "Update All" button.  This will replace your changes.  Not sure how long the changes will last.

      This is a BUG that NEEDS TO BE FIXED!

      Thank you, thank you, thank you!  The AI Generative Remove feature in the recent update is a Godsend.  The accuracy is significantly improved and, as expected, AI seems to be coming into it's own.  So glad that you are continually working on improvements such as this.  It really does improve our daily workflow. Thank you!!!!!

      I followed created a new catalog and that seems to fix the problem.  Now need to figure out how to move files from old catalog to a new one, but that is something what I need to work on going forward.

      before the update I used to be able to select a lot of spots and it would work perfectly now its saying generatvie remove failed when I try and select more than one spot to remove

      Okay here is a picture of what it looks like on my screen I never used to have a problem with it before the update and nothing with my internet has changed but this comes up every 3 or 4th time I remove something now.
