P: Generative Remove Feedback (Lr Classic & Lr Eco)

This post applies to Lightroom Classic and the Lightroom Ecosystem products.
Camera Raw feedback can be found here.

Generative Remove makes it easier to remove unwanted objects and distractions with a simple gesture, even on complex backgrounds. For more accurate results, be sure to include the object's shadow in your selection and/or expand its size.

Detect Objects uses AI to find the objects underneath a brushed area. The masked areas will now appear larger than the Early Access version of this feature. You can also circle objects for quicker selection now.

We have also updated the spot selection experience to make it easier to manage variations, switch the fill type, refine the selection area, or re-generate as needed.

Batch updating is also now supported for Generative Remove spots.

Try out the latest updates and share your feedback with us here. Please also include the following details in your post:
  • App version
  • System details
  • Example image(s) if you wish to share

Our team continually monitors this thread to track issues for future improvement. Thanks!

Since the last Lightroom update, the three AI suggestions constantly show a black spot instead of an AI edit. It's awful. Instead of getting better, it gets worse with every update!

@michaelw47857878: When applying Generative Remove  w/Detect Objects the highlighted area (a stick) turns completely black.

A number of people have reported this, and Adobe acknowledged the bug a couple months ago:

Please add your details to that bug report, attaching the original unedited image, the screenshot, and the output from the menu command Help > System Info. If the forum won't let you attach the file here, upload it to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar free service and post the sharing link here.

The more people adding details, the more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix.

Using MacOS 14.5, LR Classic 15.1.  When applying Generative Remove  w/Detect Objects the highlighted area (a stick) turns completely black.  Continues with the same black when viewing different Versions.  Redid the selected area with the same results.  A closeup of the area is attached.  This is the first time this has happened after using the same tool many times during this same session.

@raissajardimc

Your symptoms indicate there’s a problem with the .lrcat-data file in the catalog folder that’s used to store the results of AI commands (like Remove). Follow Adobe’s recommended next steps precisely:

Suerte!

Hello everyone, been having issues with generative removal. I remove objects from the photo, then I edit other photos, and when I export is like I havent removed anything. If I remove and imediately export, then the AI removal is correct, but if I take some time to export the AI goes back to original, without being removed.

When I go back to the image the erasers have this orange symbol, but it only allows me to update without actually removing. So this orange symbol does nothing.

I’ve already searched this problem and they say to update catalog, its already updated, to remove its place, I've done that, but nothing works.
