P: Generative Remove Feedback (Lr Classic & Lr Eco)

This post applies to Lightroom Classic and the Lightroom Ecosystem products.
Camera Raw feedback can be found here.

Generative Remove makes it easier to remove unwanted objects and distractions with a simple gesture, even on complex backgrounds. For more accurate results, be sure to include the object's shadow in your selection and/or expand its size.

Detect Objects uses AI to find the objects underneath a brushed area. The masked areas will now appear larger than the Early Access version of this feature. You can also circle objects for quicker selection now.

We have also updated the spot selection experience to make it easier to manage variations, switch the fill type, refine the selection area, or re-generate as needed.

Batch updating is also now supported for Generative Remove spots.

Try out the latest updates and share your feedback with us here. Please also include the following details in your post:
  • App version
  • System details
  • Example image(s) if you wish to share

Our team continually monitors this thread to track issues for future improvement. Thanks!

Remove AI did a nice job of cutting off an Exit sign behind a performer but… when I ran Denoise afterwards,  Denoise did not apply to the removed area.  Lots of color and contrast noise still there.

Windows, latest LR, powerful computer with lots of ram.

@udoh56051636 the three AI suggestions constantly show a black spot instead of an AI edit.

A number of people have reported this, and Adobe acknowledged the bug a couple months ago:

Please add your details to that bug report, attaching the original unedited image, the screenshot, and the output from the menu command Help > System Info. If the forum won't let you attach the file, upload it to Wetransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive or similar free service and post the sharing link.

The more people adding details, the more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix. So far, no one has added their details to that bug report, so don’t be surprised if Adobe doesn’t fix it any time soon.

Since the last Lightroom update, the three AI suggestions constantly show a black spot instead of an AI edit. It's awful. Instead of getting better, it gets worse with every update!

@michaelw47857878: When applying Generative Remove  w/Detect Objects the highlighted area (a stick) turns completely black.

Using MacOS 14.5, LR Classic 15.1.  When applying Generative Remove  w/Detect Objects the highlighted area (a stick) turns completely black.  Continues with the same black when viewing different Versions.  Redid the selected area with the same results.  A closeup of the area is attached.  This is the first time this has happened after using the same tool many times during this same session.

@raissajardimc

Your symptoms indicate there’s a problem with the .lrcat-data file in the catalog folder that’s used to store the results of AI commands (like Remove). Follow Adobe’s recommended next steps precisely:
