I have Photoshop 2023 and phtoshop beta installed? But in Lightroom classic under preferences, external editor the beta version is not showing, only the Phoshop 2023. How do I fix this?

I am having the same issues with PS, PSb and LRC. After reading all the replies to this issue I uninstalled PS so now all I have is PS beta and LRC. And guess what, no PS beta in the selection box for external editing. Definately a bug.

2024 and the same bug is back.

current versions, so LrC 13.2, PS 25.6 and PSb 25.7

And this use cases are just gold:

1. Opened LrC, ctrl +E , photo opened in PS

2. Opened LrC AND PSb, ctrl + E, photo opened in PSb

3. Opened LrC, linked exe of the PSb as "additional" editor, LrC is asking me, if I want to edit copy with adjustments, copy or original.

btw I don't even see PSb in list of installed applications in Creative Cloud Desktop.. please, please, please. fix this.

Same issue for me. I used to have both, Photoshop 2023 and Photoshop Beta, then I installed Photoshop 2024 and removed both, 2023 and beta. Now in Lightroom (version 12.5) doesn't show any available Photoshop version and the combo box is disabled.

If you've read the solution earlier on in this thread, then it is obvious what you should try. You reinstalled Photoshop. Photoshop should be installed first, however. So reinstall Lightroom Classic to restore the install order.

I have this problem. Just re-installed LR Classic and it didn't fix the problem.

I have recently updated my version of Lightroom Classic to 12.3 and according to Adobe I should now in my Preferences be able to select which version of Photoshop I can send my edits into. I currently have installed,  Photoshop 2023 version 24.4.1 plus I also have the Beta version of Photoshop on my laptop too. When I go to the preferences in Lightroom I only have one option which is Adobe Photoshop 2023 (no other option in the menu) however, when I edit from Lightroom into Photoshop it opens in the Beta version! I can only get my photos to move into the non-beta version if I have it open first. I have tried uninstalling Photoshop 2023 and reinstalling it, it worked for a day or two and now has reverted back to opening in Beta?

Anyone else getting this problem?

Thanks for the links, it looks like I am not the only one experiencing this and the work around in the 3rd link is the only option that is in any way useful. Sad that Adobe haven't fixed this in an update!

No issue getting a beta of PS to work when selected in the LR prefs. I happen to be on a Mac FWIW.

When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, one of the first things to try is this:
1. Use the Adobe Creative Cloud application to uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic and when asked, keep preferences.
2. Install Photoshop first, then Lightroom Classic. The order is what is very important here.
Better?

I uninstaller PS2023, PSBETA AND LIGHTROOM CLASIC.

Then reinstalled, installing L C last.

But still only PS 2023 showing in the external editor. When I open a photo from L C it opens in PS Beta.

Still the same problem.

What was the order for PS Beta? Was it 2nd to last?

Same issue. Latest issues of Lightroom Classic and both Photoshops.  Tried selecting the Photoshop Beta as the second edit option but then the top edit options no longer showed Photoshop 2023, only 2021 and 2022 versions which I still maintain on my computer.

First of all, this is new for Lightroom Classic 12.3. You do not say which version of Lightroom Classic you have installed. Secondly, maybe you are looking for the wrong thing. You can choose the version of Photoshop by clicling on the name, they do not show together. Finally, uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop Beta may be needed to make it show.

Hi Johan,

sorry for the lack of information.

I have Lightroom classic 12.3 Also the latest versions of Photoshop 2023 and Beta. Today I have uninstalled and reinstalled all.

In LC preferences, external editor the only one showing is photosop 2023. But when I edit in Photshop it opens Photoshop Beta? It's ok for me but would like to know how to Fix.
