Question

Profile slider greyed out

Lightroom classic 8.4

After selecting any profile I am unable to change the amount slider as it's greyed out. Some of the profiles are a bit strong which is the reason for wanting to tone it down.

I'm able to apply the profile just not able to adjust it.

Hi Nelsonhd! I just hit this problem too and have read the replies below. I agree it's VERY confusing and frustrating. Typical LRC!

The good news is LRC in the Develop module has very similar functionality with more options (than the Profiles) and the slider actually works.

Instead of Profiles it's called Presets and is on the Left of the screen below Navigator - just click the Presets triangle to open them. They seem to all have a working amount slider - so in my view are far better than the ridiculous mostly 'all or none' Profiles. For example the Seasons: Autumn section has 12 fully amount ajustable presets which work well. I first realised these actually work by using them in lightroom for ipad - where they are more obvious.

Having these actually (Presets not Profiles) working is a game changer for LRC - odd how LRC often makes things SO obscure and difficult.

Apparently only available for Creative Profiles:

    ahh, and from Adobe:

from: How to adjust image tone and color, and work in grayscale in Lightroom Classic

    NOTE:

When you apply any of the Artistic, B&W, Modern, and Vintage profiles, Lightroom Classic provides an additional Amount slider that allows to control profile intensity. For other profiles, the Amount slider is dimmed/inactive.

Any of the "Camera Matching" profiles cannot be changed with the amount slider.

Others, like the "Creative", "Artistic", "Modern". etc are TBMK known as DCP Profiles, including User created DCP profiles, and these can be adjusted by Amount.

Sorry. I should've been more specific. The profile I'm using are the "Adobe" profiles. Specfically the Adobe Landscape profile. I have also turned off camera/lens profiles to see if that made a dif.

all files are Nikon camera raw.

    Thank you
