PSD files import error

Hello everyone. I hope you have a very nice 2024!
Let's cut to the cheese:
I just moved all my files to a new Disk, so I created a new database (LRC). Windows 10 machine.

After the disastrous file moving (I had all sorted by folders by name eg: "20231212_sabrina", etc.)
Now I have a lot of "2023-12-12" folders... (hahaha 😞 )
the problem is: in these folders I have lots of PSD files that seems to be saved without "maximize compatibility - (MC)" check. So LRC won import them. I'm talking about 500 files. not so much, but definitively a lot to do it MANUALLY convert.
Does any one knows if there is a way to take the list that LRC gives you of all those files and, export it or do something like a batch to re save them with MC fixed?
I'm a big of bridge and its scripts. and I'm about this little to regret moving to LRC.

Re the "maximize compatibility" problem. In the past I had the same and I used Photoshop Image Processor to 're-save' the (multiple) files after I had set the preference in Photoshop to Maximize compatibility. [Always]

I used Adobe Bridge to select files and  [Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor...]

(Note the check box for 'Maximize Compatibility')

If you problematic PSD files are all in one folder, you can run Image Processor on the folder from within Photoshop-  [File > Scripts > Image Processor...]

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

thanks a lot for your answer. That's how I do it usually.

Using bridge I'll have to target ALL my PSD in the disk and run the script.

My point is to applicate that process only to those PSD that LRC can not process.

Does "target ALL my PSD in the disk" really present a problem? For years I have had "Maximize compatibility" set to 'Always' so every PSD in my system is "compatible" with LrC.  It marginally increases file size to incorporate a composite preview, but I never notice that.

From Bridge you can select a folder, even a 'parent' folder with [Show items from sub-folders], set the sort order to 'file-type', select PSDs, then let Image Processor 'chug away', over-night if necessary for hundreds of PSDs.

Otherwise you will need to manually [Open] every individual PSD in Photoshop and re-save the file before you try to Import to Lightroom-Classic. I have no knowledge of Scripts- but isn't Image Processor a 'script' to do the job?

Does any of this imply that these photos were in your previous LrC catalog?

Normally, moving photos to a new disk does not require a new catalog; you should be able to use your own catalog and point it to the new disk.

Not sure how this happened either, using your operating system to move folders and files to a new disk ought not to change folder names. Maybe you should try again and get this part correct so that folder names are unchanged.

You said you tried to create a new LrC database. Please don't leave out important information like this. Anyway, I think you ought to post this in the Bridge forum.
