"Edit in Photoshop" - Can't Do anything IN Photoshop!

I just accidentally deleted this thread...

Recent Reinstall of Windows. As of one of the LR Classic or Photoshop updates this year, "Edit in Photoshop" link still works, but I can't do anything to the file. Can't make new layer from background, can't duplicate it, can't use any of the menus or do anything at all. It lets me unlock the layer, but even then, nothing happens. This worked early in the year and just... stopped.

Per a friend's recommendation, I tried changing the "Edit in" settings to 8-bit/PSD instead of 32/TIFF and setting it to sRGB, but no dice. Just doesn't let me do any editing in Photoshop.

Any ideas?

Win10 x64, latest public updates to both apps.

    If this is the issue where when you send images from LR classic C to Photoshop CC, some menu items are grayed out in PS

    then

    known problem,

    workaround 1, start PS before sending an image from LR

    or

    workaround 2, in PS, in preferences, disable the home screen

    this is a forum, a place for like minds to vpcommunicate, nit a support page, no Adobe employees here, just other customers......etc etc

    Well, today Adobe has updated PS, looks like it fixes the LR to PS issue

    Hi, I have exactly the same issue, however, neither fix works for me.

    Any other suggestions?

    Since this thread has been marked as answered, it would be best if you start a new thread with specific info about your operating system and the versions of LR and PS installed. Include.Also the steps you have already tried.

      Wow, yep having something open did it. must be the homescreen.

      I guess when it was working for me before, I already had it open.
