"!" missing files refuse to reconnect after changing Catalog name?

I changed the name of my catalog using the "rename catalog" from the edit menu of LR Classic. Said it was complete and the connected folders was renamed as well.

 

All images are marked with an "i" for missing image. If I use the locate function and navigate to the image it refreshese, but only that single image even if the locate surrounding images checkbox is checked.

Yes, that's what changing the name of the catalog does, it renames a bunch of folders, but not the folder with your photos. So if the photos have exclamation point icons (which look like the letter "i" but upside down) then almost definitely the photos we missing before the catalog name change. Please look at these instructions (especially Figure 3 and Figure 4 and associated text) which will allow you to reconnect entire folders at once.

The old catalog is still listed and greyed out with all the folders inside. The only folders that have reconneccted are the ones that I have located a missing file in, in other words if I click the "i" in the missing image, locate it, then that folders appears in the newly renamed catalog, but all the rest remain in the old catalong
