How is this not fixed yet? Totally disrespectful of users. Here's my version of the problem and, yes, my settings are set to Always Use Apple Pencil.

Has

anything

been

done

about

this?

ipad Pro, M2. Apple Pencil Generation 2.

Like everyone else is saying, Brush Masking in Lightroom for iPad works with finger, but not with pencil. It used to work. Did you break it? What is the plan for fixing this feature?

Thank you.

Hello @Glenn31156937jmuo and others

Our advice at this time is to try replacing the pencil tip.  We have heard from more than one user that installing a new pencil tip helped.

The challenge in providing a definitive solution is that the LR iOS team is not able to reproduce this problem in-house.  If this was a problem all pencil users faced, there would be more participants on the thread, and we'd likely see it too and be able to debug this further.

I'm going to attach a video of my own experience.  It shows me enabling Show Touches in Lightroom's App Settings > Input, so you can see what my own 2nd Gen Pencil is doing on an M1 iPad Air (iOS 17.4).  Notice how I can access the controls and draw as expected.  The video doesn't show it, but this works regardless of whether "Only Draw with Apple Pencil" enabled or disabled.  If looking at my own video, you spot some detail or setting I missed to reproduce your issue please let me know!

I had this exact same problem. I solved it by  removing the screensaver now everything works perfectly including the mask brush

I'm confused. There’s a “screensaver” on ipad?

Removing the clear screen protector solved the problem.  Apple Pencil 2 will now act as a mask brusn.
