Good morning everyone.
It often happens to me that when I export photos from my Lightroom library and then import them to Photos on Mac for some, not all, the date taken is changed to the date of the export. I can't understand...

A couple of possibilities:

1. In your export settings you are not including "All Metadata", thus the original capture date is not included in the exported file.

2. The file you are exporting from might not have a valid capture date, i.e. it could be a derivative created elsewhere (e.g. from social media, or from an earlier export that didn't include the capture date at the time of export).

For such images, check in Lightroom before you export that the recorded capture date is what you expect.

What's the file-type of the original images that you are exporting?

By "random" do you mean if you repeatedly export the same file with the same settings then sometimes you'll get a different result in respect of the date? Or do you simply mean that when exporting a bunch of images with the same settings, some will end up with the "wrong" date, but some won't? If the latter, I suggest you upload a copy of one of the affected original files (using WeTransfer or Google Drive or similar sharing apps), then share the link so that the file can be inspected to see if we can figure out what's going wrong.

When I export a group of files that have the same characteristics only some then have the date changed. In this for example then in Photo for Mac I see the date 2023/03/10
Here's one

Thanks, but can I just clarify what you've sent? I need to see a copy of the ORIGINAL file that's in Lightroom, not a copy of the file that was produced by the export. What you've sent looks like the copy that was produced by the export?

If you don't have a local copy of the original, you can create a local copy by exporting the file using the "Original + Settings" option in the "Image Type" box when using "Custom Settings" in the "Share" panel. Then upload that copy to Dropbox.

What's the origin of that file? It's probably not an SOOC (straight out of a camera) image, but however it was created it has no EXIF information at all. Which means it has no original capture date, so when you export it the actual export time and date is all that can be shown as the "capture date". This is what the EXIF panel looks like in Lightroom Classic:

That's exactly how I would expect it to look if I imported an image which was created by a previous export with "Copyright Only" selected in the Metadata section of the export settings.

When checking your files, using the "Info" panel in Lightroom desktop will give you some clues as to the EXIF contents of any particular image, even though the display is much more limited when compared with Lightroom Classic. This is how your image looks in Lightroom:

Notice that there is no data at all in the top black panel (where some of teh EXIF data is normally shown) apart from the pixel dimensions. Compare that to this screenshot of the same panel for a recent iPhone image:

Note that the Camera, Camera Lens and shooting information is all present, which would be a pretty good indication that the other EXIF data, especially the "Date Time Original", will also be present....which in turn means that when you export the file the correct capture date will be included in the resulting derivative (provided you also use the "All Metadata" option in the export settings).
