LrD 8.3 and LRC 14.3 - Color profiles NOT working for Sony A1.2 ILCE-1M2

Explorer ,
Jun 06, 2025 Jun 06, 2025

Hi, you list the Sony A1.2 (ILCE-1M2) as fully compatible with Lightroom and Lightroom CC since 14.2 and 8.2. When actually especially since these versions the Adobe color profiles don't work at all anymore!! Completely unusable... ; ( Completely desaturated colors except for red and you have to work with three colors and 2 sliders each only to readjust the greens and it's basically not possible doing it without destroying other colors. But also blues, yellows, browns, they almost look like sepia pictures

The only solution I've found is to downgrade Lightroom CC 14.1< which has worked for me. Hopefully Adobe will step up and fix this and fix this quickly. Photoshop also. You'd think they'd be more inquisitive about new pro flagship cameras!

Just replace the "Sony ILCE-1M2 Adobe Standard.dcp" file from 14.1 (which Adobe had right) and put it in 14.4

On a mac it's in:

“/Applications/Adobe Lightroom Classic/Adobe Lightroom Classic.app/Contents/Resources/CameraProfiles/adobe standard”

Hi everyone,

Thank you for sharing the details and for your patience. This issue with Sony A1 II (ILCE-1M2) color profiles seems to be logged as a known bug, and our product team is actively working on a fix. You can track the original report here: Color issue with RAW files from Sony A1 II and Lightroom Classic 14.2 and Photoshop 26.5

For now, as a temporary workaround, we recommend the solutions shared by @paul_0720 and @harryr58122638 (marking them correct for visibility), such as replaci

Hi @patrikk4249813, Thanks for reaching out! Let's try a few things first to see if it fixes the issue:

1. Check Import Settings: Try importing the RAW files as "Standard" rather than "Embedded and Sidecar."

2. Update Lightroom & Camera Raw: Make sure you're using the latest versions of Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw. Sometimes, compatibility fixes are rolled out silently in minor updates.

3. Convert DNG: Try converting your ARW files to DNG using Adobe's free converter may help normalize the color profile behavior. https://adobe.ly/3TcG1PC

If it keeps happening, we can try a few other things to get it sorted. I hope this helps! ^CH

Thank you. Could you be so kind and change LrD to LR CC in the title? I seemed to have a typo.
1. In Lightroom CC I don't have the option to change import settings, right?
2. yes certainly
3. I will try that, but it would not be a practical way to work with for an extended period of time

Please take note that this issue is already discussed in this forum, I am not the only one

PS: Since this is an issue with LR CC and LRC, I have posted it under both categories. If you insist, only discussing it under one topic, then I would prefer to have this under Lr CC, because this is what I am mostly using nowadays.

Sorry, but with Import Settings you are referring to this?

This doesn't change a thing (obviously).
What do you mean by embedded side car and standard?

I have now tried 3) the DNG converter and there is absolutely no difference between the resulting DNGs and the ARW inputs...
I really think that there is a general problem. btw. this applies to pictures shot with either the first and also the latest Sony camera firmware (now V2.01).

I have the same issue with my A1ii , everything works with lightroom classic 14.111 but all classic versions after this have desturated colours. I have reverted back to 14.111. Various A1ii users are having the same issue

Hi @patrikk4249813, Thanks for the update! To help you with this issue, we would like a few more details. Can you send your system info so we can try replicating it? You can find this by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Also, if you can send some of the images you're experiencing this issue with for us to test, that would be great. Thanks! ^CH

Thank you Claire! This one is a good example, but it's every picture. Happy to share more, but this might be a good starting point as it shows how basically all colors are extremely desaturated except for red.
Just realizing, the upload function doesnt allow me to attache the original .ARW file. So I send a screenshot with the Adobe profile vs. one with the Sony standard profile applied (which is also not adjusting well for greens, way too extensive).
People here are saying that this only ocurred since LrC 14.2 and LR CC 8.2

Did all that, still doesn't work, all my other camera's don't have this problem.

@Claire H. This has been going on for months, is there a solution yet.   DNG converter from adobe doesn't recognize my a1 II files.

Hi there,

I also own Sony A1 II camera, and after shooting a wedding, I was shocked by the colors — I was about to return the camera, as the colors came out brown and muted, which looked ridiculous.
Is the only solution really to downgrade Lightroom to version 14.1?

Are there any other options you’d recommend?

I’d really appreciate your advice.

Thank you!

Yes I'm also having the same issue w ith the A1ii. 1. Standard imports only (I don't use Embed & sidcar) 2. Latest updated versions of LRC and ACR but I'm not using ACR. 3. The DNG conversion solution has no place in a professional workflow. Please sort this out urgently.

No it doesn't. However, I did just try updating to latest LRC and while that didn't work, I then tried the reset button in develop and that DID WORK. Very odd and no idea if update was needed or it was simply the act of resetting the image (which can be done in bulk).

What do you mean by reset button? Unless I don't understand what you mean, resetting the photo, killing all adjustments, will only set the photo to the Sony "Camera ST" profile (which is also quite off with intensive greens and a yellow layer) . You may reset and reselect any Adobe profile (on which also all cobalt profiles are based on) and you'll see that it is not working.

Agreed. It's another Adobe sh*tshow. I use Imagen in my workflow also and so upgrades aren't working at all. Only solution I've found for now is downgrade to 14.1< which seems to work fine for now.

@Claire H.  i have exactly the same problem the 14.4 update doesn't change anything you have to go back to 14.1 to find normal colors. do something on the reddit forum too others are full of this problem.

I see that the problem persists it's impossible to retouch these photos in good conditions have you had any news from your side? because apart from using the sony ST profile which corrects but makes everything complicated
